Bauhaus: Art as Life at the Barbican Art Gallery
New illustration for Amelia's magazine, this time it's for Matt's article about the Bauhaus.
For this occasion I was asked to draw a portrait of the great Mr. Van Der Rohe.
You can read the whole thing over the magazine's website.

IF: soaked
Soaked in watercolors, all the clothes in the catwalk look as pretty and beautiful as they can get.
Catwalks are always something worth watching.
This image belongs to an article by Amelia Gregory about Emilio de la Morena's LFW A/W 2011 Catwalk.

Jena Theo show in LFW for Amelia's Magazine
All the people at Amelia's magazine are busy with the London fashion week right now, and I couldn't be less.
As you can see in Jemma's article, I got a couple of ilustrations included in her review for the Jena Theo show. And I'm pretty much happy about how they came out!
I usually don't have the time to spend so much on a couple of ilustrations, but I spent this past weekend working on them (not the two full days, but most of it), had the time to muse over them, and most important, enjoy them, which I think shows.
You can see these at full size (and read Jemma's article) in Amelia's magazine, as always.
A couple more of ilustrations are waiting to be posting, plus a few more coming. So excited to have a nice excuse to draw catwalk shows!

I keep forgetting...
I keep forgetting posting about this, but cool things keep happening and I want to talk about them all, so better post about them so I don't forget anything.
First-I got a couple more ilustrations posted on Amelia's magazine.
You can see both at full size in their respective articles, just click them!

Still Corners by Amelia Gregory

Tom Hunter's memory lane by Jessica Furseth
Second-I recently got interviewd in my friend's design and visual culture blog. Which is only in Spanish, but still. Christian's so kind and cute and cool, you've gotta go read his blog even if you just understand a little bit of spanish! Show him your support by commenting on his entries so he keeps updating his blog!♥
Third-last week, the people from La fábrica de sueños invited me to participate in their collective expo. This is the first time I'm invited to participate in something like this, so excited!

Click on the pic to see my profile in La Fabrica de sueños.
The theme is about food, every artist chooses a recipe, and makes something out of it. There will be ilustrators, painters, musicians, fashion designers (I think), and more.
You can always visit La fabrica's site or La Fabrica's Facebook to see past exhibitions to see what kind of work they like to show.
The expo opens on February 12th, so if you're in Barna by that time, stop by and say hi!

I know I've been away for too long but...
This past two weeks have been crazy.
I suddenly (really, suddenly is not fast enough) got a job. I went to the interview on a Thursday afternoon and the next day I was already working full time.
But, despite not having free time at all, that's (obviously) good news.
Talking about news, I got three more illustrations up on Amelia's magazine!
Remember the last illustration I bloged? I didn't expect it to be published but it did!

These two are part of an article about Paul Smith and his collab. with Rapha on a cyclist line.

This one was a piece I really liked doing even if I couldn't spend a lot of time on it.
It's about vintage shop Lucy in disguise, which is quite cool to tell you the truth.
As I said, I won't have as much time as before to draw/update anymore, but I'm working on a couple of "big" (they certainly are big for me haha) projects, so expect big news from time to time!
Also, Disqus has not been working right on this blog (most probably it's my fault and this blog's horrible html and css) so I removed it. Now blogger's default comment system is the one ruling this place. Don't hesitate to leave comments anymore, even if it's just to say hi!

Willow organics for Amelia's magazine
I didn't realize it was already up, but you can now read Sarah's (yup, the girl with the kitties in her sidebar) new article about organic skincare brand Willow Organics.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, she interviewed me in her blog a few weeks ago!
First serious interview ever! haha
Thank you Sarah for always giving me nice topics to ilustrate!

Chanel nº5

You can now buy this illustration as a print on my Society6
Ilustration for Viola Levy's article about perfumes.
This was so much fun to draw. Detailed and realistic drawings are the most fun for me (but also they take longer and more effort to get done).
When she said my style would be perfect for Chanel nº5, I got so happy! Such a great compliment.
You can read the whole thing here.

Le train bleu

And another piece for Amelia's Magazine.
This time is an exhibition review called "Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes 1909-1929 at the V&A" and you can read it here.
My ilustration represents the play "Le train bleu".
Hope you like it!

Ethical beauty for Amelia's Magazine.

This is an ilustration for an article written by Sarah called "Is the beauty industry moving towards a more earth friendly narrative?" and published in Amelia's Magazine.
And with just that prompt I had to make an ilustration. And the picture above is what came out.
You can read the whole thing here. Very informative and interesting, so go read it now!
